A handy guide to discussing Brucella with your clients
Discussing Brucella canis with owners isn’t always straightforward, particularly when they’ve already been told their dog was ‘tested’ before entering the UK. We’ve created this quick guide to support those conversations, explain why further testing may sometimes be recommended, and help make the referral process as smooth as possible.
It’s important that owners know that being asked about travel history or Brucella testing does not mean that you automatically assume their dog has Brucella. It is simply part of providing the safest possible care for their pet, veterinary staff and other patients.
