Coming soon: the first dedicated Specialist veterinary cardiology referral clinic in Wales
After more than 15 years of providing Specialist-led cardiology services directly within veterinary practices across Wales, Gloucestershire and the South West of England, we’re incredibly excited to share the next chapter in the HeartVets story.
This September, we’ll be opening the first dedicated Specialist veterinary cardiology referral clinic in Wales: a purpose-built facility in Cowbridge, designed around the needs of our patients, their owners and the veterinary teams who trust us with their referrals.

One question we’ve been asked a lot is whether this means the end of our visiting cardiology service. Far from it!
Our visiting service has always been at the heart of what we do, and it will continue to support practices throughout our current regions in England and Wales. The new clinic simply gives us another way to provide specialist care and support you, offering greater flexibility for patients who benefit from a dedicated referral environment while continuing to support practices through our established in-practice service.
We believe this combination offers the best of both worlds.
The new clinic has been purpose-built to provide a calm, welcoming environment for both patients and their owners, while giving our clinical team access to facilities designed specifically for advanced cardiology.
Alongside state-of-the-art echocardiography, electrocardiography (ECG) and digital radiography, we’ll also be able to offer bronchoscopy for respiratory investigations, blood pressure assessment, blood testing and breed screening clinics in collaboration with the Veterinary Cardiovascular Society.
Most importantly, the dedicated space allows us to continue expanding the services we can offer as the needs of our patients and referring practices continue to evolve.
Although we’ll have a new front door, what won’t change is the way we work.
HeartVets remains proudly independent and employee-owned, working alongside practices across the veterinary profession to provide Specialist-led cardiology care. Whether we’re supporting you through an in-practice visit, a referral to Cowbridge, telemedicine advice or continuing professional development (CPD), our aim remains exactly the same: to make specialist cardiology accessible, collaborative and practical for the practices we work with every day.
