We cannot promise to improve the success rate of New Year’s resolutions, but we can make a difference to your 2026 when it comes to the cardiac cases you see in practice. HeartVets are here to ease you in and give you the tools to tackle even the trickiest of hearts.
Our newsletter has been so well received since its launch in May, and we want to say a huge thank you to those of you who have taken the time to read, share and get involved. If you’re not yet receiving our monthly newsletter, you can sign-up online now.
Looking back, moving forward to 2026
Our most popular articles included: Managing cardiac disease and chronic kidney disease simultaneously, Anaesthetising cats with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, and our spotlights on general practice emergencies: arrhythmias and pericardial effusions. Even the HeartVets pets made an appearance in October’s issue – and yes, we would love to see your own furry family members in their finest (or funniest) outfits this year.
So, what else have we been up to?
The team have loved being out on the road! We were incredibly proud to see our cardiology nurses championing HeartVets at events across the country, from the Cornwall Veterinary Association CPD day and our Cardiff Cardiology Refresher Day, to the Veterinary Cardiovascular Society annual conference and numerous regional CPD evenings. They also did an amazing job running our stand at the Diamond BVNA conference, showcasing the vital role of veterinary nurses in referral cardiology.
A particular highlight was celebrating Lauren’s success in achieving her American Internal Medicine Veterinary Technician Specialist qualification in Cardiology – the culmination of mountains of coursework and a truly gruelling examination process. We plan to include more nurse-directed content this year, so do tell us if there are particular topics you would like us to cover.
Our cardiologists have been busy too – speaking at VetCPD Exeter, delivering our two-day Hearts and Minds event in Gloucester, and running Clinical Clubs at Vale Referrals. Jo even spent a few days teaching in Copenhagen. Alongside that came an array of echo courses, CPD sessions and open days across the South West, Midlands and Wales.
And between all that, the team have:

Where are we now?
As we have grown (not just because of festive overindulgence), we have also partnered with several fantastic new clinics to bring our services even closer to referring practices. This means reduced travel time for clients, less stress for our patients and familiar surroundings for those already attending these clinics for routine care. We now visit:
- Vets4Pets Emersons Green (Bristol)
- Watkins and Tasker (Portishead)
- Southmoor Vets (Totnes)
- Vine Tree Vets (Ross-on-Wye)
- Polden Hills Veterinary Centre (Bridgwater)
You can find all our clinic locations on our referral clinics page.
What’s coming up?
As a mailing list member, you can expect more concise spotlight articles, practical tips and myth-busting scientific paper summaries – but also new additions: downloadable resources, cheat sheets and simple, time-saving hacks arriving straight to your inbox each month.
We will keep you updated with upcoming CPD events (online and in person), including our popular Cardiology Roadshow, continuing across Wales and expanding into the South West. We are also thrilled to be bringing back our annual multidisciplinary Surfari at the Bedruthan Spa Hotel.
Finally, we will share updates on our expanding services, including our custom-made feline Holter monitors and bespoke cardiac cat vests, as well as developments in our interventional procedures. Here’s to a year of supportive, practical cardiology content, and to making your 2026 cardiac caseload just that little bit easier. Sign-up to our newsletter today and we’ll send you all the latest news throughout 2026.
